Contest "Pond Poetry" Wrapped Refrain Photo Prompt Nighttime in a snow covered park.
You went away, leaving me cold
and lone in the dark season's hold.
A solitary bench sits stark
against a white snow covered park.
Winter reminder to me that you could not stay
I've frozen inside ever since you went away.
The lonely night holds not a sound
while moonlight shines on snowy ground
and tree limbs hang low weighted down.
I walk in the square near downtown
to defrost my heart, hoping to once again write
and pour out my pain in verse on this lonely night.
