A cat's bestseller.
I try, but I fail
To write a good book
The editors just give
Their "I hate it" look

But then, as I watch
My cat sit on the keys
Words begin to appear
About valuable beads

The beads were long gone
With no clues to be found
On the edge of my seat
I was spellbound

And after an hour
Or maybe two or three
The cat was now done
No mistakes could I see!

I crossed my fingers
As I sent the story in
Hoping that they would not
Toss it in the bin

They said it was best
That was ever written
The only mystery they
Had to read in one sittin'

I sigh and I look
At the beast on the mat
I wish I could write as
Mysterious as a cat
