For Taboo Words Contest
I rise in majesty
Over all the buildings
In the business district of La Defense.
I draw crowds
Leading the tourist trade
Whether picture, statute or postcard.

Many call me beautiful mistress
So cunning and mysterious
A strong symbol
Of freedom for the people
A flag of red white and blue married to
A sculpture of metal and steel.

Quickly, now
Stand in the shadow I cast over the land
I shall bring victory once again.
The masses will forever cry Viva la Revolution
