A captivating, motivational poem I dedicate to my son who passed away on January 24, 2018
I love the rain
I love the sound it makes as the droplets hit my window pane
It brings me comfort knowing that it washes away the dirt, the ugly, the filth
Sometimes when I'm lucky enough, I hear thunder or see lightning shoot across the sky
It's like Mother Nature is enraged at the negativity in our everyday lives
To some of us, it's a gloomy, depressing, upsetting plan ruiner
For me, its a relaxing, comforting, lazy day, cup of a delicious hot something, curled up on the couch, movie/show or Netflix and Chill day that I wish came sooner
I think of a rainy day as a day to take a moment out of my busy, hectic, life full of responsibilities, chaos, and screaming children, to pause, to take a step back, let the sound of the drops as it taps and pitter patters on my windowsill to close my eyes, take calm deep breaths in and out and meditate
For me, it's a day of reflection, a reminder that even though this world is full of hate, life goes on, its a time where sometimes you have to take chances, take that leap of faith
If you believe in it
My oldest son Zane recently passed away and on that day the sky opened up and Mother Nature cried
Much like today
And even though it was a day of remorse and grieving
And life for me would NEVER be the same
Somehow I knew everything would be alright, for he was no longer suffering and in pain
But oh did it hurt, still and always will hurt, the pain of loosing a child is indescribably unimaginable
But even though my love for him is undeniable and endlessly tremendous,
I knew there was a purpose
God has a reason and a purpose for sudden tragic things like this
I thought to myself
As I let the tears fall from my face with heavy heaving and breathing
Even though the emptiness I have in my heart will never be filled
We live and learn, leave our legacies behind and die for the generation after us to learn from and shine
A rebirth of life and it never ends
So next time you feel as if the rain ruined your day, think of it like this;
The negativity, suffering, ugly and filth is washed away
And life begins anew
When the rain ends, Rebirth begins
The sun is shining, bringing love, warmth, hope, and happiness
To a better, brighter, sweeter day
