Disaster is just a pen stroke away.
You love...yes you.
Why do you toy with me from the shadows, hidden and obscure?
I take my first tentative steps toward you, intent on resolving your falsehood or my mistake. I throw light onto your shadows
only to see a silly note, or nothing at all.

Were you there? You once were and... a tingling causes me to whirl around.
Sweet temptress, you come and go again.

"I recall you well you know. You were my young love. You amazed me so.
You could reduce the most powerful regime to a series of baudy missteps.
Or take a lowly woman's graze of a child's cheek and make it meaningful enough to tug tears. "

"Even in your form
Your treasures enlighten
in delightful cages"

"Why have you come now?
You could not feed me before
Now a family?"

"Stop now! no time can be spared for this game.
I must close my ledger, I'm nearly done.
Are you laughing? These credits overclaim,
Sales commissions, all must be rerun.

I grasp and I miss that youthful phantom.
Another rolled paper flicks at me from behind.
I open it, and it reveals a single word.
