A long-ish poem about unrequited love and admiration
They say Love
Happens slowly
And then all at once
I felt the spark
A flicker of light in the darkness of my mind
A lone star in the night
When your eyes caught mine

People always say they notice their colour

I never see that

I see the way you smile
When you look at others
The way you jump up
At something you love
That when you laugh
Your eyes glitter in the light
Like snow in the sun
Stars

I never knew why I felt the way I did
No words could explain the way I missed you
When you were gone
And how the moon and the stars
Are nothing without you

It was so hard
The days seemed so dark
As I longed for your smile
Your laugh
To see you one more time

I do believe that one day
You will notice
How I can't help but smile
As you sit next to me
As you laugh
As your eyes light up

And how I sit there in silence
As you are taken away from me
Again
And I never dare say a word
Because if I do
I could lose you
For good

My three words
Will always echo in my mind
Never spoken
Because when they are
Those words
Will be brushed away
Like a joke between friends
There for a moment
Enjoyed for a second
But then they go
Never remembered
Forgotten
