The beauty of the falling rain...

Scent Of The Rain

In the darkness of the night,
In the surrounding so quiet,
The thunder clapped,
After the lightning so bright.

The wind blew, picking up the leaves,
Whistling it went, passing though the trees.
It was damp and wet,
Like a pleasant soft breeze.

And then all of a sudden,
Drop by drop, once and again,
Fearfully breaking the silence,
It started to rain.

The rain drenched the Earth,
Ending the Summer’s wrath.
The cool drops from heaven,
Filled the heart with mirth.

The first drop felt chilling,
Shivering in cold but willing.
Then they ran down my arms,
Giving a wondrous feeling.

The forest bathed in the shower,
Tree tops bowing lower.
Glazed every blade of grass,
Smiled every flower.

Rejoiced and happy, fresh and anew,
I felt like as light as dew.
The sodden earth, the soft soil,
A luxury for few.

Pearl like specks designed the glass pane,
Hazed looked the vast terrain.
The air smelt sweet,
Mesmerizing is the Scent of the Rain.
