The post for the first day of my Facebook Challenge.
|Welcome Challengers to Day 1 of the Your Book Pre-Launch Facebook Challenge. I am so excited about what we will be creating this week. Selling your book involves more than just getting your book up on Amazon and waiting for people to buy. It involves getting interest and buzz starting around your book. That buzz can be created in a few simple steps-no, creating pre-launch interest in your book is not difficult. In the next 5 days together, we will be creating the copy you need to get people interested in, and possibly pre-ordering your book, before the launch date. I will not be giving away daily prizes, but everyone that participates will be in for a draw for a comprehensive list of resources you can use in your own pre-launch.
I don’t like a lot of rules myself, so I won’t be loading you down with many of them. When I post the task for the day I would like you to create your own post with your response to the daily task, not to respond to my post. Other than that, just be respectful to all the other challengers. I am absolute on this rule, so any disrespectful, racist or derogatory posts or responses to other challengers will result in the creator of the post or response being deleted from the challenge.
Let’s dive in. Any author, in this day and age, needs some sort of online presence. It might be your website or your social media accounts. Today, I want to know about your online presence.
No matter what type of book you are writing, you have a target market in mind. A book about starting a business will be targeting business people who want to start or have started their own business. A book of children’s fairy tales will be targeting parents with young children. You get the idea.
When you have decided on your target audience this should guide the type of online presence that you create for yourself. Today, create a post telling us about your online presence. What do you have-a website, social media accounts or both? Include a link to one of your online endeavors, and tell us what audience you are targeting.
I will be giving my opinion about each of your offerings, and offering suggestions, if you need it.
