a poem meant to wake us up because danger is knocking at our doors
Where presidental tweets end
black and white facts begin.
Imagine our chosen Leader
if honest tears streaked his painted on grin.
A nation of self absorbed marionettes
losing our way in tangled strings.
We step on terrorist cracks,
to entice poltical fat cats.
We sip morning coffee over cyber sexual affairs,
ignore dark shadows behind Russian media fairs.
Now the world's children suffer due to our apathy.
A river of innocent blood flows we refuse to see.
These questions I own; for moral reasons.
Lazy summer days move to a vital voting season.
We owe our children a loving diverse culture.
One in which every life has a better future.
