That timeless story
I lost my wife a year ago
And I still moan and weep
It took me time to say this
I’ve lost a lot of sleep

I lost my wife a year ago
And life is not the same
I should have seen it coming
And I accept the blame

I lost my wife a year ago
But she’s not really dead
She moved on to a better place
At least that’s what she said

I lost my wife a year ago
She hasn’t shown up yet
She ran off with the mailman
Yeah, that would be my bet

Damn the mailman
Damn the mailman
