Pea in the Bed

Stack the mattresses twenty high
A simple test and thou shalt find
Whether a true princess draws nigh.
Under said pile, a pea is hid
The fair maid climbs to the sky
And lays weary head to rest.
Tossing and turning she doth sigh
A restless night, sleep hath declined
Revealing a match for our princely guy.
