A letter to myself written on Thursday, December 31, 2019
Dear Me --
Can it really be Thursday, January 31, 2019 already!?!
Here I am writing my seventh "official" letter to you since I began doing this back in 2007 -- with that first one not even being done on time to be part of the contest.
Hopefully, I'll get THIS letter to you done in time to be eligible for the contest -- though I must say that I've ended up doing what I'd said I WOULDN'T be doing (which is, of course, starting to write it at a little after 10:30 PM, which is about 1 1/2 hours before the deadline).
But -- HEY, Me! -- at least I'm going ahead and writing it, so that WE (and anyone else who happens to stumble across it) can benefit from reading this letter. Besides, I actually began preparing to write it a few weeks ago but just became sidetracked with a lot of other things.
This is easy enough to do when both of us live such busy lives -- but I believe we can get our ducks in a row better this year as we're becoming older (for sure), wiser (maybe), and more Internet savvy (not to mention being helped along with this by the ongoing improvements made to the WdC site by The StoryMaster , The StoryMistress , and their crew).
Anyway, I thought it might be nice to include links to the other six letters I wrote to you as a kind of study of how far we've come in our journey.
First off, here are the first five since I began writing to you. There were a couple of years when I skipped this but, most of the years you heard from me.
As we both know, I was without access to the Internet at home until late in 2016, and I was still too busy getting settled into my apartment and doing other things to get to writing to you in 2017 but resumed doing so in 2018.
Anyway, here it is 2019, and this new year finds us busy with a number of projects that we're putting together.
I've even created a little slice-of-life for the purpose of covering a period from today through the weekend that will give us something to look back on:
I don't know about you, Me, but I believe that the year ahead is going to find us writing our memoirs as well as drawing together a bunch of the patches of our lives and finally turn them into that crazy quilt called "THE BIG PROJECT" with the just-mentioned slice-of-life also serving as an important location for tracking our progress.
Having said that, it's time to sign off and get to working on the unfolding of another year.
Over & Out!
