My new plans for my marketing success.
|Last night I saw a television show which really opened my eyes. It was “Mysteries At The Museum”, and the segment was about the trouble Elisha Otis had marketing his safety elevator because of the safety issues associated with elevators up to that point. He elicited the biggest marketing genius of the 1800’s-P.T. Barnum-to help him. The display they put on was absolutely spectacular, Otis did prove his invention safe. Companies were scrambling to get their own safety elevator. This was in no small part due to Barnum’s addition to this publicity stunt.
Transition To Success is not going the way I want, and I think I know why. It’s me. I need to market more about what my business can do and how it can change your life. I have been thinking about adopting marketing strategies similar to P.T. Barnum’s but have been resisting the idea. Barnum was larger than life. He obviously had a marketing persona that he marketed along with his Newspaper and his exhibits, The Greatest Show On Earth. I promised my people that they could expect authenticity from me, and I didn’t want to compromise that.
Last night made me realize something. I don’t have to be not authentic in my marketing, just enthusiastic. I will be promoting my business with videos, and posts dripping with enthusiasm and energy. The first thing I will be tackling will be the contest I am running in my group, the “Get Talking Giveaway”.
I don’t have to fake enthusiasm at all. The more I think about this idea, the more excited I get. All I have to do is make sure that I practice, practice, practice when it comes to making my videos.
