A series of poems about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima
The sun is shining
The bright blue sky warms the heart
On this fateful day

A B-29
Sparkling like a cut diamond
Flies across the sky

Little Boy drops out
Of the plane that carried it
The parachute slows
The bomb drops lower, lower
The bomb to end existence

The bomb detonates
And color drains from the world
It is night again

Ashes are falling
On their heads from the sky
But they do not care
