A recap of last night's New York Islander/Toronto game.
It is hard to believe, but the Toronto Maple Leafs clinched a playoff spot by defeating the New York Islanders last night 2-1.

"I think our group worked hard tonight," said Leaf's head coach, Mike Babcock, after the game.

There was no scoring in the first period.

Call Rosen put Toronto ahead 1-0 at 2:17 of the second period.

John Tavares put the Leafs ahead 2-0 at 3:50 of the third period.

Jordan Eberle scored at 14:55.

Islander's goalie Robin Lehner, stopped 38 shots last night.

Now that the Leafs have clinched a playoff berth, the pressure is off.

The Carolina Hurricanes, however, are still fighting for a wild card spot.
