A poem that I wrote for the The Writer's Cramp Contest.
I am doomed to remember a boy from the past
I always hope that it would not last
I am talking about me of course
Regret can be a powerful force

Things I did and did not say
And other things I regret everyday
Some things I wish would not be
Are things that define me

That is how regret works
Makes me wish I did not have quirks
I do weird and odd things sometimes
Looking back feels like they were crimes

I wish I can be at peace with my past
Wouldn't that be such a blast
I can only hope that one day I will
Get over things as easy as taking a pill

Until then, I will stand in the "rain"
And continue to live with the pain
For I am doomed to remember a boy from the past
Oh, how I always hope that it would not last
