What is Fate?
|Is Fate naught but the wind leading the wing?
For where birds fly a man strives to follow
Amidst great heights between poets and kings
and good omens by high flying Swallow.
Or is Fate but the reading of raindrops
misconstrued as though the pouring of wine?
and yet that which runs from the mountaintop
cascades to all of our goblets in time.
Or is Fate naught but folly? A fools whim?
Which upon smallest of influence turns
The significance of small happenings
from dark of the womb to dust in the urn.
