A preview of round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs
|Well. That was a really wacky first round.
President Trophy winners, the Tampa Bay Lightning, were swept.
All the division leaders were eliminated, including, Tampa.
The Toronto Maple Leafs actually won a game, (six to be exact).
There was just a single prediction I got right.
I predicted the Dallas Stars was going to win in six games.
The Stars did exactly that.
Now on to the second round.
I've made some predictions, however, I have my doubts.
It is hard to say what is going to happen, judging on how the first round played out.
Boston Bruins Verses Columbus Blue Jackets
In the regular season, Columbus won the series 3-2.
Boston, however, have a better record, (49-24-9), and Columbus has given up more goals (232).
Prediction: Boston in six games.
New York Islanders Verses Carolina Hurricanes
Here's something intriguing. Both teams have equal home records, (23-13-4).
The Islanders won the regular season series 3-1.
Prediction: Islanders in five games.
Dallas Verses St. Louis
I'm picking Dallas simply because St. Louis's track record in the second round hasn't been good in recent years.
St. Louis has the advantage in goals scored. The team scored 247 goals in the regular season. Dallas had just 210 goal.
Prediction: Dallas in five.
San Jose Sharks Verses Colorado Avalanche.
This series is really hard to predict.
In the last round, I predicted the Sharks going to practically steam roll over the Vegas Golden Knights.
The series went to an exciting seventh game.
I also didn't think Colorado had a good enough team to get by the Calgary Flames.
The Avalanche won the series in five games.
Who knows who is going to win this series.
Prediction: San Jose in six games.
