An excerpt: Life is our apprenticeship to the truth that around every circle another drawn
So many years arrived at and left
On my way to an insular life
Bullies on the playground
No more cruel than denigrating supervisors
Or full-fledged strangers online

Friends mouthing lines my parents composed
Lovers in the next act of a family whodunit
In evening performances and that weekend matinee
Until years down the line
I opt out of our run

Not surprised when some new kid
Bargains for another remake
To see all retold
Like the badly written script I unwittingly read
Over and over again
