A poem about a crush
Was that a glance?

Did you just look at me?

I quickly turn from you,

Not wanting to get caught

Perhaps just maybe

I might have a crush

I feel as if my soul

Is being drawn to you

Is it just a coincidence

Us meeting like this?

Was your heart racing like mine

When you accepted my friend request?

I really don’t want to rush

Or jump in head first

But then I catch you smiling

My heart skips a beat

Could we just jump ahead

Past the awkward hellos?

To the part of the story

Where I find your arms holding me close?

No, no, no let's not rush this

Take a step back

Let's do the awkward parts

Building a firm foundation

Enjoying the feelings

That comes from having a crush

I don’t want to mess it up

I will take this one slow

After all, it’s just a crush
