My thoughts on writing and putting it out there for others to read. Not easy for some.
So long as you write for yourself, write as if no one will ever read it you cannot go wrong. If you then let someone read it, you allow yourself to be vulnerable and that can be daunting, but what is the point of writing unless you are prepared to share your thoughts (in most cases)? If you do not want or expect praise or critique, just to share your ideas, thoughts and words then it does makes it easier to put yourself out there without the fear of being judged but, like most of our fears, once you stand up and face them they are never as bad as we imagined and the best way to improve your writing skills and knowledge is to gain the opinions of others and choose which ones to take on board and which ones not to. Just keep in mind that opinions are just that, and should never be a reason to fear what someone says about your work when writing as an art is subjective anyway. Something else to keep in mind is that we as writers can never write the perfect work that everyone will like and who would want that anyway because that in itself would be boring.
