A father speaks to his anxious daughter on her wedding day.
Daughter on her Wedding Day

What do I say?
Shivering in her cocoon
Refusing to emerge
For fear of disappointing
How do I tell her
that her butterfly self
regardless of majesty
Is no better, nor more beautiful
Than the little caterpillar girl
She’ll always be to me
