A poem written for the Taboo Words Contest July 2019. Line Count: 10
These animals that flap their wings while they swim,
Diving for a snack and returning again,
They are my summer entertainment you see,
When I walk to the pond, I know where they’ll be.
Waiting for me to throw them a treat,
They waddle their way to the shore to greet
A friendly face they’ve known all their lives,
Bringing them joy every time it arrives.
My slick feathered friends love me,
And that always fills my heart with glee.
