All things come to she who waits.
The leopard frog is vivid green with black spots that she uses to remain hidden on her verdant lily pad. She sits immobile, as if frozen, with only the lids of her eyes opening and closing on occasion to keep her orbs moist. High above her, dragonflies perform their morning aerial dance with their transparent wings buzzing noisily. Frog stares across her pond as if uncaring and uninterested in their acrobatics. Upon noticing that they weren't being applauded for their astonishing maneuvers, the insects begin to circle lower to ensure that their amphibian audience is able to see their performance better. They assume she must be nearsighted to not be amazed by their prowess! The larger male insect is taunted by the younger females to execute a "fly by" in an endeavour to capture the possibly, dim witted frogs attention.

"I could," brags the male, "but I don't feel like it."

"You're just scared." laughs the prettiest one. "Go on. Do it." she demands.

"You're not the boss of me." He replies indignantly.

"Scaredy-Fly." she taunts. The rest of the females all take up the chant.

"Fine! Whatever." The big male snorts.

He moves off to the west so he will have his best speed for the run. Suddenly he swoops down and back east so that he can pass by the dumb frog just a foot above. The amphibian remains incurious to his antics as he comes rocketing towards her.
Suddenly her tongue whips out lightning quick and the show-off finds he is stuck to it like glue. The females all shriek and vanish into the mists rising off the stagnant water. Quick as a snake the frog's tongue pulls the insect in and devours it. The frog sits motionless with just her eyelids opening and closing on occasion.
