The loss of so many good young men due to stupidity of the highest order by their Command.
I danced with the Bedouin in the desert
I leaped high with the African Masai
I flew with the Chosen Frozen
To land beneath the Arctic sky

I dove with the 'cuda in Bermuda
Swam in the Sea of Gallilee
Stood on the mountain of Masada
Floated in the salty Dead Sea

Walked the souk in old Damascus
The streets of Nazareth too
Wined and dined in Lebanon
Lazed on a beach in Corfu

The Dominican sands were beautiful
As were Jamaica and Belize
The Mayan temples stole my breath
Like the macaws high in the trees

Berlin was so clean and organized
You'd swear it never saw war
Unlike Mons in Belgium
Where scars showed by the score

Austrian mountains amazed me
So did Switzerland and Tuscany
Venice waters, where sons and daughters,
Drift through flagrant artistry

On safari in ancient Un'goro
Lions roamed with Pride
In the Pyramids of Giza
I found where mummies hide

I traipsed the beaches of Normandy
Searched the gravestones in Flander's Fields
But at the caribou statue of Beaumont Hamel
Is where I found I just had to kneel.
