A Late September Afternoon
Wayward breezes shimmering in the trees
Multi-colored butterflies playing in the wind
Sun's bright ball slowly exiting the day
Hands of night calling from farther edge
Gleaning pleasures sweep by fast and slow
Inside fall's arrival not yet fully developed

Fields of grasses longingly awaiting next hungry scythe
Giving up what likens to nighttime choruses
Bringing another minute composed of elongated seconds
Purposefully providing added glory upon added glory
As daylight passes unto late beginning
All is at peace within one late September afternoon
