When you suffer from remorse and struggle with self-forgiveness it affects not only you.
I am afraid of my mistakes
sometimes they come and keep me awake
thoughts of things I've done in the past
haunt my mind 'til I just sit up at last
I think that you are sleeping by my side
so I sit there quietly reading
trying desperately to hide
punishing myself for my younger crimes
then I hear you ask me
honey what's the time?

It's half past the pain
quarter to the lies
time we loved again
or time we said goodbye
I'm presently concerned
with past committed crimes
and my future seems to be
one big waste of time
