A double etheree poem written for October 19's 'Rising To The Challenge' contest.
Fall

Fall.
Wind weaves,
leaves to dance
in woodland trance;
soaring, descending
then reaching an ending.
Carpet of orange, yellow,
red and multitudinous browns;
squashed under foot, mulched by boots aplenty.
Skeleton leaves; in death they feed the earth.
Wildlife skittering, rampant through hedgerows,
seeking sustenance, nature's blankets.
Nesting, burrowing; a haven
against the world turned hostile.
Soon to be barren land,
a landscape larder
of survival;
abundance,
boon of
fall.

(Double Etheree, 20 lines)
