A 41 line free-style poem written for Week 3 of the Octoberfest Contest, 2019.
Loyalty! What Loyalty?

Do you remember, sister,
when you made that pledge?
Mixed blood with blood?
What price your betrayal?
Your coven,
your sisters,
sacrificed by your forked tongue.
All that remains is me.
And the bones.
To these bones you will atone,
slowly and painfully.
You sold them,
my sisters,
your sisters...
for a purse full of gold.
Did you hear the screams?
Of course you didn't, for each and every one
retained their dignity and
died in silence,
unlike you with your whimpering,
your pitiful groans.
Your life for theirs;
that's what you'll pay,
but you'll suffer and beg me for mercy.
Blood will flow,
hot and dark
and their skin will grow
as I chant and utter,
as I spin my spell.
Crawl like a worm,
it will do you no good
for my magic is strong,
and will keep you in place
until one by one,
as you come undone,
I'll be rejoined
by the Sisterhood
while you
will
die...
alone.
