When one has lived a life one knows about life
Solitaire

Gnarled
and hardy,
three score plus ten I’ve lived.

Now that I am old,
I understand the game.

"What game is this?"

“The Game of Life”
- a game of moves.
It’s played like this:

Step by step, seek out the good.
If it feels wrong,
step out.
If it feels right,
put out
roots.

“Will you play with me?”

I’ll be there for you
but
it’s largely solitaire.
Even with people
right up close
and jewels
all around
it can be
solitaire.

Go out, my child,
You have to start
somewhere.
