This is a fiction poem about what happened in a basement
( In The Basement )

We bought this house a week ago, so proud not to rent
At night we kept hearing sounds, like pipes being bent
Often it was hard to sleep, we tossed and we turned
We found out the original owner, died and he was burned

They couldnt find his body, so the house was pretty cheap
The chills on our skin alot, was getting pretty deep
The sounds kept getting louder, but we couldnt tell from where
A sign on the basement door read, enter if you dare

The door opened slowly, the flashlights wouldnt work
Each step that both of made, sent our nerves to a quirk
A moaning was quite audible, we held each others hands
We saw something moving, it was hard to understand

It was chained to an old chair, the skin was all but flesh
The smell was cooked animal, that was tattered in a mesh
It saw us and made a scream, we darted out the door
We never looked back at the house, at a quarter after 4
