|The Toronto Maple Leafs were looking to into their long break with a win against the Chicago Blackhawks last night.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
The Leafs ended up losing 6-2.
"We didn't have a lot of life," said Toronto's head coach, Sheldon Keefe at the post game press conference.
Things started off bad for the Leafs right off the bat.
Drake Caggula scored 21 seconds into the game.
Blackhawk's Captain, Jonathan Toews, put his team up 2-0 at 5:32.
Brandon Saad made it a 3-0 game at 11:02.
William Nylander scored the Leaf's first goal 25 seconds into the second period.
Toews scored again at 3:19.
Toews had a four point night.
Dominik Kublik put the Blackhawks up 5-1 at 10:58.
Alexander Kerfoot made it a 5-2 game at 15:17.
Kubalik scored his second goal of the game at 17:42.
Kubalik ended the night with three points.
There was no scoring in the third period.
Chicago's goalie, Corey Crawford, stopped 31 shots.
Toronto's Tyson Barrie had two assists last night.
Toronto won't play until January 27.
The Leafs head to Nashville to face the Predators.
