Lisa helps capture her first perp.
Lisa stared at the guy across the table from her. He was leaning so far back in his chair it was tilted on two legs. This was their first coffee date and she wasn’t sure what to make of it!
“Rob, what are you doing?” she whispered.
He put a finger to his lips to indicate he wanted her to be quiet. She struggled between curiosity and offense. Slowly, Rob brought his chair upright.
“This is getting interesting , do me a favor sweetheart; take a washroom break will you?”
Lisa opened her mouth to protest, but Rob waved his fingers toward her as if to hurry her on to do as he demanded. Lisa did have to go to the bathroom, so she made her way forward. By the time she got back, Rob was standing by their table being handcuffed.
“Rob, what’s going on?” she cried.
“You with this guy, lady?” one man asked.
“We’re having coffee, but I’m not really with him!”
“Maybe we better take her too, Earl. She may know something,” the second man suggested.
When his partner nodded, the second man cuffed Lisa.
As they rode together in the back of the cruiser, Lisa kept giving Rob dagger stares. He just looked out the window. On the way to booking, the two policemen and their prisoners separated.
The one that had Rob, headed left. The one that had Lisa headed right to an office. He pulled out a chair.
“Coffee?” he asked.
Lisa made a face.
“I wouldn’t drink the swill here unless you paid me more than I make now!”
They grinned at each other and high-fived.
“Looks like we got him finally! Thanks for the assist, Patrolwoman!”
“Anytime,” Lisa replied and headed back to the Cyber Crimes Unit in the basement.
