This is a little piece about a lady who I hope still casts her dreams upon the tides.
Jenny Brown

Jenny Brown your note has been found!

A Coca Cola bottle floats away on the tide,
From the land where black-backed gulls cried.
A young girl dreams of waves carrying her
Far from a land of rocks, lobster, and balsam fir
To the place where dreams and the future wait.

From the land where black-backed gulls cried,
Upon a boulder and rock-strewn beachside,
She wrote a message, and capped the bottle tight,
Watching it slowly bob along out of sight,
To the place where dreams and the future wait.

A young girl dreams of waves carrying her,
Though 36 years have made that day a blur.
Will the hope filled note ever be found,
Cast into the cold water by Jenny Brown,
To the place where dreams and the future wait.

“Far from a land of rocks, lobster, and balsam fir,
Come, dream, explore,” was the hopeful whisper,
But 36 years only brought the letter to the Cape Cod,
Not some voyage to places far away and abroad,
To the place where dreams and the future wait.

To the place where dreams and the future wait,
Far away beyond the too familiar bay and strait,
Following currents and wave; choppy and sedate,
A coke bottle with a note floats onto its fate.
To the place where dreams and the future wait.

Jenny Brown, your note has been found!
