The art of stumbling around
Sometimes I still don’t know
That I’m an adult
It sneaks up on me
One moment I’m perfectly fine
And the next
I’m crawling like a baby
Struggling to understand the world
And my place in it
Other times I’m like a toddler
Waddling along and making some strides
But I stumble and fall too often
Most of the time I’m a child
Unsure of the world
And the rules that I’m supposed to follow
To be an adult
Is an impossible task
When I’m constantly questioning
What to do
Where to go
Who my friends are
Why I’m the way I am
How to finally take those big adult steps
And life is so fleeting!
I age without aging
And one day when I die
I’ll still be a child
Learning those steps into infinity
