A monologue/poem in which a voice which could be the author contemplates its situation.
So what about me?
Shall I be cast into the void:
one of countless souls forgotten.
Never loving anything;
but my work.
For oftentimes it seems
this may be so.

Is the plan of my life stretched out ready before me?
Or am I paused on this juncture?
A soul without guidance...
no nearer the start, of my life
than I am the finish.

I feel it is so.
For I am a concoction of contradictions.
My brain pulls itself this way and that.
A ship with no commander.
Becalmed in an infinite ocean of possibility.
