Anticipating fireworks is half the fun.
As though it ended before it began,
The crowd hushed, anticipation was high,
Held breath observed, even in the doorman
By an enter sign too bright for mind's eye.

The crowd stirred. How bright would it be this year?
As though it ended before it began
BOOM reverberated through atmosphere,
Although scared, the crowd stuck to the floor plan.

Sunset unforecast by the weatherman,
The first fireworks were dim in the twilight,
As though it ended before it began,
A pause to see the rising satellite.

Full moon in the sky, minds preoccupied,
enjoyment with the show's installment plan
BOOM: Sky ablaze, the crowd was satisfied,
As though it ended before it began.
