A mystery happened in a field filled with red flowers.
Jake was skipping school again and was running in the field - his favourite place. Jake just loved running, and running. He was on the track team and that was the only part of school he enjoyed. The field was filled with red flowers and in the middle of the field stood a gate that hadn't been there before. There was no fence, just a gate across Jake's jogging path. So Jake jogged through the gate. Nothing happened, he was still in the field and he kept jogging.

Jake jogged around the field as long as he didn't feel tired.

Meanwhile, at home, Jake didn't come home for supper. His mother called the police to report the missing child. The police and family searched, and some of the neighbours searched, too. They searched the field of course, but saw nor Jake nor the gate.

The sun started setting. Jake was surprised he hadn't gotten tired, and he decided he should go home. For the heck of it, Jake ran though the gate again.

"There he is!" One of the police officers called out.

Jake ran to his mother who was waiting with the police.

"You've been gone for hours! Where were you?" asked Jake's mother.

"I was here jogging," said Jake.

"No, you weren't, we were here looking for you."

"This is what really happened," said Jake, "I was running though the field and I ran through the gate for fun."

"What gate?" Jake's mother asked.

"That gate," Jake turned to point at it but couldn't find the gate in the field filled with red flowers.
