Mass education reopens.
With the pandemic over, back to school,
Packed lunches, packed schoolbags, packed bus passes,
Packed rooms learning algebra of George Boole.

Physic'ly distanced desks inside classes,
Back to friends, and hope, dreams and love it seems,
Back to education for the masses.

There at the brick wall in faded, torn jeans,
"You aren't allowed to talk to me that way!"
The beautiful brunette with brown eyes screams.

It's been a long time since midsummer day
When his love was a dream and they were friends
Who'd hoped to elope, at least, run away.

Back to school, back to sports, back to girlfriends,
But never back to him to make amends.
