A Twenty Line Poem

Fire Season

When the winds begin to blow
Then the barometer goes to low,
You’d better make sure the neighbor
Doesn’t take out the trash
And start a big old fire.

‘Cause when that wind begins to blow
And the barometer is low
You will have a lot of unexpected labor.
And you’ll have to tie your horses with a lash
So they won’t end up in the mire.

The firemen will come in a hurry
Your yard becomes a muddy slurry.
All the animals are in danger
As you try to control your anger
For that one little spark.

All because when the wind began to blow
And the barometer went to low
Then the neighbor took out the trash
And then he did something rash.
He lit a match.
