A final hour, a final gasp
I can't stop that clock
Unchain from my mourning
Did I catch sight of two souls in that location?

It's all dust now
Sand sliding through my hands
Ivory bony bits in sun
Why can't I stop crying

This is anguish, mortification, pain
A farcical last hand is on high supply, no turning back
I want to claw, to cling for scraps
Nothing to grasp
