A recap of last night's Toronto/Calgary
|The Toronto Maple Leafs won their third straight game last night, defeating the Calgary Flames 4-3.
In the postgame press conference last night, Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe wasn't too enthusiastic about his team's performance, but was happy with the win.
"To come out of with another win here, (in Calgary), tonight is a really good sign for our team," said Keefe.
Wayne Simmonds opened the scoring for the Leafs just 3:44 into the game.
At 14:16, Auston Matthews scored his fourth goal of the season on the man advantage to put Toronto ahead 2-0.
Toronto out shot Calgary 10-1 in the first period.
Just 1:08 into the second period, Johnny Gaudreau scored to make it a 2-1.
Travis Boyd put Toronto ahead 3-1 1:01 later.
Milan Lucic closed the gap 3-2 at 14:21.
Toronto dominated the second period, out shooting Calgary 18-5.
Unfortunately, Calgary dominated the first half of the third period.
As a result, Gaudreau tied the game on the power play at 9:03.
Toronto got back on track, though.
At 12:14, Mitch Marner scored the decisive goal.
Toronto's Morgan Rielly had two assists.
Calgary's Sean Monahan also had two assists last night.
Toronto has a day off before heading to Edmonton to play the Oilers tomorrow night.
