A very short story of joke I played on a co-worker who only knew me for 3 weeks.
My last place of employment (in 2017 to 2020) was a small property management division with a staff of 12. Being the first person one sees entering the office, I tried to keep my area clean. We had issues with our air conditioning system and the maintenance crew had been in with ladders on either side of my desk. When they finished their work in the ceiling and removing equipment, there was a layer of ceiling tile bits and lots of dust. I proceeded to take everything off my desk to thoroughly clean all the surface areas. One of my co-workers comes by my desk and asks what I'm doing (he was oblivious to the workmen who had been in my area). Without missing a beat I continued wiping the counter, replied "It has been a pleasure working with you these past couple of weeks, but I'm not staying, just cleaning my desk before I leave." If you should have seen the look on his face. It took him a full minute to reply, "No you're not, you're lying!" At that point, I burst out laughing. Mr. B. you just got pranked!

I continued to work there for three years. Now I'm retired, I sent Mr. B. a congratulation note on celebrating his 19th year with the company. His reply: "Girl, we miss you!" (The office has not hired someone to fill the vacancy.)
