#81 from the pendulum

Windy highways circle back
To the beginning
Within heedless miles
Waiting impatiently
To change direction
Hobbled by indecision
Chided by doubtful nuance
Niceities cussing misunderstandings
In foreign tongues
Viced with cautionary tales
Of humble sized egos
Ticking hands veined
With circled minutes
Of hours spent wondering
Nothing of value
Hills vibrate downward
Wisdom vined through generations
In children's ears
Words of important definitions
Twined in tiny ringlets
Curled around fingers of hope
Inside warm dry rooms
When it is storming outside
Dusty goods overfill the pantry
In cautious preparation
Of what is to come
Hidden beneath the creaky floorboards
Is the way back
