As a singer myself, this has always been my greatest fear.
THE SINGER'S SONG
I sing songs about
loves that die
I give those people
a reason to try
I sing songs about
hearts on fire
I sing songs about
love and desire

But no one knows the things that go on inside of me
They only see the world the way I want it to be
No one knows the fears that I face
No one knows my world is a lonely place
I'm the singer
And all they know
are my songs

I sing songs that make
people cry
And make something stir
deep down inside
I sing songs about
men made of stone
And give people comfort
when they feel alone.

No one knows what goes on in my mind
No one knows I'm lonely all the time
No one knows the fears that I face
No one knows my world is an empty place

And ev'ryone knows all about my past
But no one really knows the man behind the mask
And if I die tomorrow what is it that I have gained
Will I be remembered or will they forget my name?
For I'm just a singer
And all they know
are my songs

I'm just a singer
And this
is
my
song
