We seek Life's answers, but do we ask the right questions?
QUESTIONS OR ANSWERS?

When we are born,
when this life's new,
have we agendas to see through?
Do we have goals,
like milestones,
to mark our progress?
(Break our bones?)
Do we set out upon this life
to rise above
and grow, through strife?

Or are we naked, set adrift
upon life's waters,
short of shrift?
Defenseless, shiv'ring,
lacking guile
yet stroking, kicking all the while
against the current,
coursing free
and racing to eternity?

As dogs their tails,
we chase truth's light,
each morning, afternoon, and night.
And yet when comes
the rising dawn
what have we learned
to build upon?
We seek the answers
day and night.
Yet do we get the questions right?
