Spring is on my mind after long winter days,
Sun feels warmer, I'm ready to catch some rays,
I love it when the grass and leaves turn green,
Lilac buds open and burst on the scene.
Flowers open in a twinkling of an eye,
A robin hops out under the clear blue sky,
As fruit trees flower, honeybees will soon appear,
Or hear a red-wing blackbird's song so dear.
"Spring, a time for renewal!" I shout and sing,
But... where there is warmth, pesty bugs are a thing,
Walking through the woods, you’ll hear sap a flowing
into buckets for maple syrup I love so!
Joining in is another spring creature, the frog,
Croaking loud and clear in the dreary fog,
Plus, fish spring to life after winter ice melts,
Or you’ll see Fawn's first awkward steps, so heartfelt!
Spring is a time for fresh morning soft scents,
When butterflies return, a happy event,
Spring, a time for color in so many shades,
The sights, sounds, and smells of happiness in spades.
