A Pendrangle, described here: https://allpoetry.com/poems/about/pendrangle
I told my wife I'd get some tasks done in the yard
but a nasty rain is coming down pretty hard.
So I'll log on to Amazon and disregard
the debt that's been amassing on my credit card.

Good fortune has given me an excuse to shirk
another promised task that is nothing but work.

I said I would paint the ceiling one rainy day,
but I can avoid that and waste my time away
by buying a few useless items on eBay,
or finding an online dragon or two to slay.

Good fortune has given me an excuse to shirk
another promised task that is nothing but work.

I'm afraid to look outside for fear that I'll see
a cloudless sky and the sun shining back at me.
And my wife will no doubt give me the third degree
if I don't haul ass outside and show some esprit.

Good fortune has given me an excuse to shirk
another promised task that is nothing but work.
