a creative writing
Imagine stepping off a plane into a world where shop signs are like puzzles and conversations are a symphony of unknown sounds. That's exactly how I felt when I arrived in Spain for a summer program. English, my usual companion, felt lost and lonely. But instead of being scared, I was excited to begin this language adventure.

Every day felt like a treasure hunt. Pointing at pictures in a menu, I learned new foods – "patatas bravas" became my favorite, those crispy golden potatoes with spicy sauce. Stumbling through directions, I discovered hidden parks and bustling markets. Slowly, Spanish words started to stick, building a bridge between me and this new world.

Making mistakes became part of the fun. Laughter filled the air as I accidentally called my teacher "abuela" (grandmother) instead of "profesora" (teacher). With each fumble, I learned a new rule, a new way to express myself. Soon, simple conversations flowed, and the world around me felt less foreign, more like a friendly neighbor.
