In this bittersweet world, why is the human suicide rate so low at only 0.02%? |
May 22nd was the Buddha Festival in Hong Kong. Dalian Hospital was a hospital funded by Japanese Buddhist groups and attaches great importance to Buddhist festivals. On the day of the Buddha Festival, Dean Tianwu, chief consultant doctor Ryumoto Taro, and a group of senior Japanese staff gathered in the hospital lobby. Everyone faced the huge Buddha statue, and Dean Tianwu presided over the incense-burning ceremony during the Buddha Festival. Dean Tianwu Yingyang closed his eyes tightly and held a note of incense, preparing to burn incense at an auspicious time. The senior staff standing behind Dean Tianwu had their hands clasped together and looked solemnly waiting for the moment to offer incense. When the auspicious time had come, the Dean opened his eyes, respectfully put the incense on the burner, and then stepped back and bowed deeply to the Buddha statue. The staff behind him also bowed at the same time. After a while, Dean Tianwu raised his body. "Alas...!" When Tianwu raised his body, he sighed softly, as if he was regretting something that was about to happen. "Dean..." Ryumoto Taro heard the Dean sigh and wanted to step forward to comfort him...but was stopped by the Dean with a wave of his hand. "Ryumoto, I'm going back to the office now. Bring the 'guests' to meet with me later." Dean Tianwu ordered Ryumoto. "Yes, Dean!" Ryumoto and everyone bowed to Dean Tianwu and respectfully sent him off. The important "guests" that Dean Tianwu will meet today are Chen Dazhong and Liang Wanzhen. Dazhong and Wanzhen didn't have to work that day, so they went to "Dalian Hospital" and met with Dean Tianwu Yingyang. But seeing that both Dazhong and Wanzhen looked tired, it seemed they had not slept well last night. However, they knew the importance of this trip, so they put aside other things for the time being and concentrated on today's trip. Just in case, Dazhong carried a pistol at his side but also specially arranged for Li Boguang to monitor and respond from the outside. Dazhong and Wanzhen entered the hospital and received warm hospitality from the hospital. They were greeted by Chief Consultant Dr. Taro Ryumoto. "Agent Liang, we meet again." Ryumoto shook hands with Wanzhen politely. "Yes, Mr. Ryumoto.!" Wanzhen's attitude towards Ryumoto has improved greatly, and her hatred has weakened. The two exchanged glances, and Wanzhen noticed that Ryumoto's demeanour was completely different from yesterday. Wanzhen also knew it was not the time to talk about love, so she put aside her feelings for the time being and focused on today's matters. "Huh? Sergeant Chen, why don't Mr. Li be here?" After Ryumoto shook hands with Wanzhen, he turned to Chen Dazhong and shook hands. "Oh, he has something important and can't come." When Dazhong shook hands with Ryumoto, he shot Ryumoto with a hostile look. He must have regarded him as a love rival, but Ryumoto had no special reaction to this. "It doesn't matter, the Dean, Mr. Tianwu Yingyang, has been waiting for you two for a while. Please follow me to his office." Ryumoto was not surprised at all, everything seemed to be within his expectations. After the meeting ceremony, Ryumoto led them to walk to the Dean's office. "Sergeant Chen, do you feel that is very strange... It seems very uneasy..." During the walk, Wanzhen kept stroking her pistol nervously and spoke softly next to Chen Dazhong. "Zhen, stop thinking so wildly and don't be rude in front of others!" Dazhong also responded softly. "But... I feel like I'm being sent to execution now. It's uncomfortable... I don't know... whether the end of this trip... will be like your senior brother Bai Yulong?" Wanzhen swallowed her saliva. "Zhen, be quiet... don't talk any more and calm down quickly. We are about to arrive at the Dean's office!" Dazhong hurriedly comforted the nervous Wanzhen. Although the two talked in soft voices, Ryumoto Taro listened. Ryumoto didn't mind what they said but showed a cold smile at the corner of his mouth. The three of them finally arrived at Dean Tianwu's office. Ryumoto gently knocked on the door, and after receiving Dean Tianwu's approval, he led them in. The design of the Dean's room is elegant and noble, showing the Dean's noble taste. Dean Tianwu was sitting behind the large desk with a calm and relaxed expression as if he had everything under control! Ryumoto formally introduced Dean Tianwu to Chen Dazhong and Liang Wanzhen, while he stood behind the Dean and acted as an interpreter. Chen Dazhong, Liang Wanzhen and Dean Tianwu met each other. Although Dazhong and Wanzhen were facing an old man who was nearly eighty, he still looked strong, with blazing eyes and a calm and powerful look, which made people feel aloof and intimidating. Dazhong and Wanzhen were pressed by his eyes, staring so hard that they didn't dare to look at him... their hearts were beating rapidly with nervousness... In the first meeting alone, Dean Tianwu already had an overwhelming advantage, and Dazhong and Wanzhen were completely at a disadvantage. "First of all, on behalf of the hospital, I would like to welcome you two distinguished guests. (I)" Dean Tianwu Yingyang spoke first, interpreted by Ryumoto Taro. "...Dean...you don't have to be too polite." Dazhong and Wanzhen responded while suppressing their nervousness. "I know that the case you are investigating is related to our hospital... I guess there may be some misunderstandings, so I invited you two to come and clarify. (I)" The Dean came straight to the point. "Dean Tianwu, is there something that needs clarification?" Fortunately, Dazhong was able to quickly suppress his fear and asked the Dean. "Well, you are investigating why more than ten patients in our hospital committed suicide, right? (I)" The Dean smiled. "Exactly, I don't know what the president's opinion is?" Dazhong took advantage of the opportunity to ask further. "After checking the medical files of each patient, I did not find any inappropriate or wrong mistakes in the handling of medical procedures by the doctors in our hospital... Therefore, I believe that the patient's suicide was not caused by the hospital's fault! (I)" The Dean replied in an official tone. "If your hospital didn't make a mistake, why did the patient commit suicide during the treatment? Did someone make a mistake during the process, or fail to do their best to prevent this from happening?" Dazhong continued to press the Dean. "No! Never! I believe that the doctors in this hospital will do their best to treat every patient who seeks medical treatment. However, some things are beyond our ability... then there is nothing we can do. ( I)" The Dean shook his head. "Oh? Even a professional hospital like yours is incapable of doing anything? I would like to know what categories it is?" Dazhong questioned. |
